Job description

At ispace U.S., we’re not just going to the Moon—we’re redefining how we get there. Our missions push the boundaries of human and robotic exploration, driven by our belief: “Expand our Planet. Expand our Future.” By providing cost-effective lunar transportation, we are pioneering a future where space is within reach for scientific discovery, commercial ventures, and sustainable exploration.

With locations in Japan, Luxembourg, and the United States, ispace is rapidly growing and leading the way in lunar exploration and development. Our U.S. branch is based in Englewood, Colorado, and focuses on high-capacity payload lunar landers designed to support future lunar missions. Our team is made up of innovators, problem-solvers, and visionaries committed to making space more accessible and fostering the next generation of space exploration.

Let’s go to the Moon together! Our team is growing, and we are actively seeking talented individuals who share our passion for space.

We are seeking an experienced Global Network Engineer with deep expertise in AWS cloud networking, Zscaler security integration, and VoIP systems. You'll design, implement, and manage our global network infrastructure, ensuring optimal connectivity, security, and performance across all locations while driving cloud transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement secure global network solutions leveraging AWS networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect) and Zscaler cloud security platform
  • Lead cloud network transformation initiatives, including migrating traditional network functions to cloud-native solutions
  • Design and optimize SD-WAN integration with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) for secure connectivity
  • Manage and troubleshoot VoIP systems, ensuring quality and reliability across global voice communications
  • Implement Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) principles using Zscaler and AWS security services
  • Configure and maintain network devices and cloud network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and compliance
  • Collaborate with global IT teams to standardize network architectures and security practices
  • Conduct performance optimization for cloud-based applications and Voice/UC services
  • Develop automation frameworks for network provisioning and management using IaC tools

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering with significant cloud networking exposure
  • Demonstrated expertise with AWS networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, AWS Network Firewall)
  • Experience implementing and managing Zscaler solutions (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX)
  • Strong knowledge of VoIP/UC technologies and protocols (SIP, RTP) in cloud environments
  • Hands-on experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Relevant certifications preferred: AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Zscaler Certified Professional, CCNP/CCIE
  • Experience with SD-WAN solutions and their integration with cloud security platforms
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a global team environment

(Nice-to-Have) Qualifications

  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for network security (SOC2, ISO27001, GDPR)
  • Hands-on experience with network observability tools like ThousandEyes, AppDynamics, or Datadog
  • Experience with IPv6 implementation and transition strategies
  • Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for network automation
  •  Exposure to GitOps workflows for network infrastructure management
  • Previous work with global WAN optimization technologies
  • Experience with WebRTC and real-time communications protocols

What will make you stand out!

  • Direct aerospace or defense industry experience - Previous work in organizations like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, SpaceX, Northrop Grumman, or similar would be highly valuable due to understanding of the unique industry challenges.
  • Demonstrated compliance implementation - Specific examples of implementing ITAR, NIST 800-171, or CMMC controls in AWS environments, rather than just general awareness.
  • AWS GovCloud experience - Specific work history building and managing AWS GovCloud environments, as these operate differently from standard AWS regions.
  • Multi-account architecture design - Experience designing and implementing secure AWS Organizations structures with separate accounts for production/development/security.
We welcome candidates with diverse experience levels and evaluate the best fit on an individual basis. Your final job level and salary will be determined based on your skills, experience, and the impact you can bring to the role.

Health Coverage: Competitive medical, vision, and dental plans, with 100% company-paid options available for employees.
