We are looking for a full-time Senior Propulsion Engineer who loves working in a dynamic environment and is driven to learn and grow. As a propulsion engineer with Solvus Global you will lead team members from many fields (materials, manufacturing, robotics, etc.) to improve material processing, handling, and additive processes such as Friction Stir AM, Wire Arc AM, and Cold Spray AM for propulsion systems and components.
As a propulsion engineer on this team, you will especially be responsible for supporting rapid innovation in component design, testing, and manufacturing. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading teams, contributing knowledge, and writing proposals to develop the next generation of propulsion system components to be qualified for flight. Solvus intends to rapidly accelerate its propulsion systems development with the production and qualification of parts, so you will have the opportunity to rapidly grow in your role to potentially lead major business efforts within Solvus.
Required Attributes & Skills
· Must be a US Person according to FAR22 CFR 120.15 -US Person
· Bachelor's or Master's Degree with 5+ years' experience or PhD in Aerospace, Propulsion, Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
· Knowledge of solid rocket motor or other propulsion system design, analysis principles, tools, materials, and manufacturing processes
· Knowledge of test principles, tools, materials, and processes needed to develop test requirements
· Experience in testing of propulsion systems or their components
· Knowledge of propulsion system or component qualification processes and procedures
· Ability to take and give direction well
· Desire to work in a team-based environment
· Ability to lead and guide teams, communicate the vision, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Advantageous Attributes & Skills
· Advanced Degree in Aerospace, Propulsion, Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
· Experience developing high-temperature capable materials
· Knowledge of reactive materials design and principles
· Experience in additive manufacturing
