The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join the Business Transformation team. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving business transformation by analyzing business needs, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing solutions to support organizational change. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects, collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, and contribute to the development of a more agile, efficient, and effective business. As an MDA Space Senior Business Analyst, you will run strategic continuous improvement initiatives to deliver world-class process and system improvement projects.  This position reports directly to the corporate Sr. Director of Business Transformation.

This role is responsible for collecting and articulating business requirements, recommending automated solutions, and seeking agreement from multiple stakeholders.  A successful candidate has a passion and skill for process improvement across all functions including finance, human resources, procurement, manufacturing and engineering functions.   They are self-driven with the ability to independently map current and to be process states with many different stakeholders across MDA Space. They deliver a people-centric approach to ensure that the needs, concerns, and well-being of our employees are met, ensuring that they are engaged, informed, and empowered throughout the transformation process.

What You'll Do:

  • Business Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough business analysis to identify areas for improvement, define business requirements, and develop solutions to support transformation initiatives.
    • Work with the larger Business Transformation and Operational Excellence teams to implement improvements across all of MDA Space.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including senior leaders, functional leads, and subject matter experts, to understand business needs, gather requirements, and communicate project plans and progress.
  • Solution Development:
    • Propose and develop solutions to address business needs, including process improvements, technology enhancements, and organizational changes.
    • Assess future state business needs and document a To Be state process to provide focused improvement opportunities
  • Requirements Definition:
    • Analyze current state processes and tool uses using various means of information gathering such as interviews, workshops, and observations.
    • Define and document future state requirements, including functional and non-functional requirements, to support solution development.
  • Project Planning:
    • Create project business cases to analyze processes, return on investment, determine project scope, define resource, budget, timelines and document the deliverables
  • Change Management:
    • Develop and implement change management plans to support mobilization and sustainable adoption of new processes, systems, and technologies.
  • Benefits Realization:
    • Work with stakeholders to identify and measure benefits realization, including cost savings, efficiency gains, and improved customer satisfaction.
  • Communication:
    • Develop and deliver effective communication plans to stakeholders, including project updates, progress reports, and training materials.
  • Governance:
    • Ensure that all transformation initiatives are aligned with organizational governance, policies, and procedures.

Who You Are:

  • 8 to 10 years of experience and a post-secondary education in a relevant field such as engineering, process improvement, business, finance, or related
  • Experience with continuous improvement techniques, including Six Sigma, DMAIC, TQM, Lean, Kaizen, or other process improvement methodology.
  • A people-centric change agent
  • Ability to analyze workflow and process flow diagrams and interpret process dependencies
  • An innovator who brings new ideas, capabilities, applications to the project team
  • A problem solver who can devise a solution and lead implementation
  • Strong attention to detail with a desire to learn and grow with an organization
  • Someone who can go out into the organization to collect and compile a lot of information from subject matter experts into a recommendation to be implemented
  • Demonstrates interpersonal competence including reliability, consistency, flexibility and adaptability in day-to-day interactions
  • Excited to learn by working alongside experts in many different fields
  • Knowledge of ISO9000/AS9100 standards is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Tier 1 business applications like Infor LN, Salesforce, Siemens
  • Knowledgeable with SQL queries and report development is an asset (MS SQ, SSRS, PowerBI) is an asset

Special Considerations:  

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and be able to obtain higher clearances.

The compensation range for this position is $95,000 - $135,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
