Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Rolling Meadows, IL. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Payload & Ground Systems division.
Basic Qualifications:
5 Years with Bachelors of Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related technical degree.
Familiarity with the System Engineering V-Model and prior experience executing the systems engineering workflow.
Excellent communication, organization and coordination skills (working with cross-functional teams).
Proficient with MATLAB, C/C++, or similar object-oriented programing languages
Lab integration and test experience
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of one or more of the following specialty areas related to EOIR/RF systems: sensors/antennas, transmitters/receivers, and optics
Educational background or experience with digital signal processing and algorithm/data analysis
Knowledge of the space domain (e.g. orbital mechanics, remote sensing, atmospheric effects, etc.)
Fundamental understanding of orbital mechanics and pass-planning
Familiarity with STK and MATLAB-STK integration
Agile development experience a plus
Active TS/SCI with adjudicated polygraph is preferred
