Summary:
Redwire - Longmont, CO, has an opportunity for a Sr. RF Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) Engineering Technician at our facility in Longmont, CO. This individual is responsible for assisting engineering and helping production in the oversight of the assembly, integration and test process of pre-assembled RF boards/PCBs into completed RF payloads. Additionally, you will be working with antennas and active RF systems up to about 20GHz. We are building active and passive RF systems for new space-based communications architectures. Responsibilities:
This position will work with the project leaders and engineering teams, as well as operations, to mature engineering designs into production and product based manufacturable designs.
 
For example:
  • Proficient with test equipment and bench-top measurements of circuits and systems.​ This position will leverage existing electronics knowledge and RF familiarity to successfully mature space-based RF systems into production. This person will manage and maintain RF test equipment for the engineering development and production teams. This person will take loosely defined goals and execute tests and problem solving with only high-level direction given.
  • Install/assemble active RF boxes, safely powering and using them, and executing overall component and system-level performance testing. 
  • Understands RF theory and/or EE system theory, but not necessarily a designer. 
  • Support engineering with production development and troubleshooting.
  • Provide training and coaching.
Ideal Experience:
  • Strong PCB assembly, test and desire to lead the transition from early lifecycle PCB and RF systems design to a mature production-based design. Prototype and concept development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to suggest changes to process and workflow.
  • Ability to work with an innovative and fluid RF design cycle.
  • Electronics based understanding to interface with a diverse team.
  • Proficient with test equipment and bench top measurements for circuits and RF systems, including Vector Network Analyzers, and other RF test hardware with a willingness to teach others.
  • Building RF circuits and electrical systems from loosely defined goals and provide constructive maturation of those steps into work instructions to optimize the workflow.
  • Can move between engineering laboratory workflows and translate into productions steps.
  • Good PCB Assembly, debug and rework skills for high reliability applications.
  • Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and technicians on a challenging timeline in a constructive manner.
Desired:
  • Understand the PCB build lifecycle for RF hardware. 
  • Ability to follow designed test instructions.
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Troubleshoot RF circuits, collect RF system performance data and do a first level distillation.
  • Ability to work with powered RF systems including ability to learn how to make RF measurements.
  • Comfort with basic digital test equipment, such as computer interfacing to automated tools.
  • Ability to follow RF transmitted power protocols.
  • Ideally NASA J-Standard certified, or ability to obtain that level, and familiarity of working in space-based applications.

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth.  Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
