About Skylo

Skylo is a global Non-Terrestrial Network service provider based in Mountain View, CA, offering a service that allows smartphone and IoT cellular devices to connect directly over existing satellites. 

Skylo’s direct-to-device service is now live on millions of activated devices across five continents, with more than 60 million square kilometers of coverage, in partnership with multiple satellite operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs. Devices connected over satellite are managed and served by Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, featuring a 3GPP standards-based cloud-native base station and core. Skylo provides anywhere, anytime connectivity solution that seamlessly roams between terrestrial and satellite networks. Our focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows across three main verticals: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT.

This role is located Bengaluru, India where we are onsite 3 days a week in office. 

Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo

As a Senior Product Manager (BSS/OSS/Tools) at Skylo, reporting directly to the VP of Product, you will be a driving force in shaping the future of our connectivity platform. You will own the product strategy and execution for key areas namely BSS/OSS, and internal tools/services that enable Skylo operations. By deeply understanding our diverse customer and partner base (MNVOs, MNOs, OEMs), you will define and deliver services that meet their evolving needs. You'll collaborate closely with internal technology teams to bring innovative services to market, ultimately driving customer adoption and Skylo's growth. Your technical acumen and product vision will be essential in solving intricate challenges of our technology and ensuring we remain at the forefront of the industry. You will be a key contributor to Skylo's success, bridging the gap between technology and market needs.

How You Will Contribute 

  • Own the OSS/BSS and Tools Product Roadmap: Define, prioritize, and execute a comprehensive product roadmap for Skylo's OSS/BSS systems, service provisioning and internal operational tools. This includes enhancing existing platforms and developing new solutions to support our expanding global customer base and operations. Actively participate as stakeholder in  the build vs buy decision making for needed tools. Contributed to  RFPs as indeed. 
  • Drive Operational Efficiency: Identify and address bottlenecks in our operational workflows through the development and implementation of innovative tools and process improvements.
  • Engage with Stakeholders: Collaborate closely with internal operations, engineering, sales, support, and partner teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment on product priorities.
  • Translate Needs into Technical Requirements: Translate complex business requirements into clear and concise technical specifications for engineering teams.
  • Engage with diverse customers: Actively engage with customers across various segments (MNVOs, MNOs, OEMs) to understand their needs, pain points, and use cases. Translate these insights into actionable product requirements.
  • Define and Commercialize Operational Capabilities: Work with technology teams to define, develop, and launch new operational capabilities that streamline service provisioning, billing, monitoring, and support.
  • Analyze Performance and Drive Improvements: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for OSS/BSS and operational tools. Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous optimization.
  • Ensure System Reliability and Scalability: Ensure that our OSS/BSS systems are robust, scalable, and capable of supporting Skylo's growing customer base and service offerings.
  • Champion the customer: Be a strong advocate for the customer, ensuring their needs are considered throughout the product development process.

What We Look For 

  • 12+ years of product management experience, with hands-on experience  with OSS/BSS systems (including billing and service provisioning) and operational tools, within the telecom industry.
  • Proven ability to define and execute product roadmaps, from ideation to launch.
  • Strong technical acumen, with the ability to understand and discuss complex technical concepts with engineers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with diverse customer & partner segments (MNVOs, MNOs, OEMs) is highly desirable.  
  • Data-driven decision-making mindset, with the ability to analyze data and draw actionable insights.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent experience. 
  • Familiarity with ITIL, TM Forum frameworks (eTOM, SID, TAM) is preferred.

Additional information

The compensation range for this position is: ₹5,600,000 - ₹7,400,000 This range reflects the low and high end of the range Skylo reasonably and generally expects to pay the hired candidate in this role.
