If you answered yes to both questions, then do I have an exciting opportunity for you. Turion Space is hiring for a payload systems engineering intern for Summer of 2025. This opportunity will allow for you to learn more about the critical payload systems that fly on our Droid spacecraft while also taking ownership of a new payload project.

Key Responsibilities

Research and design a new payload to enhance Turion’s space domain awareness capabilities
Perform trade studies on various payload computation solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and systems engineering, to support payload development.
Prepare and present technical reports on progress and findings to senior engineers and project leads.
Take a novel design to system requirements review

Qualifications

Required

Pursuing a Bachelor's or master’s degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
Experience with Python or Matlab Programming
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking skills, and strong engineering fundamentals

Preferred

Experience with optical systems
Previous startup experience
Experience with defining requirements for complex aerospace systems
Experience with designing a complex system from minimal requirements
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Autodesk
