Agile Space Industries, Inc. (AGILE) designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Aerojet Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.

AGILE is headquartered is Durango, CO with a facility in Mount Pleasant, PA and growing presence in Tulsa, OK.  The CEO, CFO and CCO are based around Boulder, CO.

AGILE is seeking a growth-oriented and experienced Software Manager to join a fast paced, highly technical environment.  The Software Manager will provide leadership in the development of internal tools used to support product development and testing of highly technical space hardware.  The software team at AGILE is highly capable in the fields of complex data acquisition and control, digital data management, digital signal processing, measured data analytics, and systems automation.

The Software Manager will be responsible for understanding the software needs of the business, developing project plans to achieve those needs, and aligning labor resources to deploy against the software development needs.  The Software Manager will perform in a blended role of people management and project management.

Job Details:

  • Conduct team management and building responsibilities including hiring and onboarding, performance management, career development, and team building.
  • Manage and allocate resources across software development projects and tasks.
  • Support and monitor team performance and productivity through metrics.
  • Establish and maintain functional and technology capabilities for software tools development.
  • Develop solutions against requirements of software needs from internal stakeholders across differing disciplines.
  • Conduct project management responsibilities for active software development activities including: return on investment planning, project planning, stakeholder management, risk and issue management, budget management, etc.
  • Report on status of project and team performance to executive leadership. 

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or advanced degree in related engineering or technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development
  • 5+ years of project management and/or people leadership
  • Strong knowledge of data acquisition and control systems, hardware testing, and digital signal processing.
  • Experience with software development practices including version control, testing methods, and documentation.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on delivering results on tight timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex engineering problems and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Ability to work onsite in Durango, Colorado and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiar with propulsion system testing needs and hazardous environments.
  • Familiar with data acquisition needs for in-process testing for hardware manufacturing.
  • High proficiency in common programing languages, preferences for excelled proficiency in Python, Typescript, C++/C#.
  • Familiar with LabView equipment and programming.
  • Familiar with cyber security requirement compliance for government contracting.
  • Familiar with IT networking infrastructure segmentation and administration.
  • Experienced with database management for storing and managing acquired data.
  • Experience with DevOps toolchains and software development life cycle processes

The salary range for this position is $130,000-$160,000
