Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Manager Facilities Engineering 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Rancho Benardo, San Diego CA

Responsibilities and duties to include but are not limited to:

  • Reports to the Vice President of AS Facilities.
  • Management responsibility for all infrastructure, preventive maintenance, and projects for our AS Facilities in Rancho Benardo/San Diego
  • Works closely with and/or provides advice and counsel to company and/or vendor representatives coordinating major facilities infrastructure and equipment maintenance. 
  • Supervises employees and/or outside contractors who construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings, and infrastructure and equipment via the following trades: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air-conditioning, heating, painting, electronics, fire protection systems, production line maintenance technicians, HVAC mechanics, equipment controls programming, remote monitoring systems and/or general maintenance, housekeeping, and landscaping.
  • Collaborates with site Leadership, Program office representatives, Corporate Real Estate and functional organizations to propose facilities solutions and strategies to business challenges.
  • Sets priorities, performs forecasting, and allocates the resources needed to complete all facilities projects, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Supervises employees who specify and prepare statements of work to install, maintain, repair, upgrade and replace facilities infrastructure assets.
  • Administers or coordinates with personnel who administer maintenance and repair contracts and purchase materials/resources.
  • Provides status on maintenance and project metrics performance to leadership.
  • Represents Facilities organization in site and program functional coordination meetings.  Conducts and chairs site SPace Utilization Requirements (SPUR) Board meetings with required stakeholders
  • Develops requirements and administers budgets, schedules and standards of performance for site operations and execution.
  • Acts as an advisor to supervisors and staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical and operational problems.
  • Exerts influence in the development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
  • Utilizes Maximo computerized maintenance management system to schedule, track and report on infrastructure maintenance, service requests/work orders and trouble calls.
  • Perform functional responsibilities related to day-to-day management including performance management, career development, and engagement strategy execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of leadership experience working in an operations or facilities management capacity or 5 years with a Masters Degree or 10 years’ experience without degree.
  • Familiar with establishing and tracking performance metrics
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Experience managing teams and achieving organization objectives, goals and metrics
  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Familiarity working with and briefing senior level management and executive leadership
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and  solve complex problems
  • Experience working in a mission critical facility environment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain government security clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with aerospace equipment and manufacturing facilities infrastructure
  • Experience using Maximo and/or other maintenance management system

Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
