Cognitive Space is seeking a highly experienced VP of Business Development - Government Solutions to join our dynamic team.

What You’ll Be Doing 

This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in selling effective software solutions to the Government, particularly within the Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community, and related agencies. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving our business development efforts, building and maintaining relationships, and closing significant deals. Specific domain expertise in satellite command and control, mission management, SATCOM, and GEOINT are highly preferred. 

  • Lead and manage the sales strategy for government solutions, focusing on DoD agencies, including the NRO, NGA, and USSF. 
  • Organically build and grow the sales and solutions team supporting the US Government. 
  • Develop and execute business development plans to win new contracts and expand our footprint within government agencies. 
  • Utilize your deep understanding of the IC and DoD structure and supplier acquisition processes to navigate and secure opportunities. 
  • Leverage your experience with C2 systems for satellites to provide expert insights and solutions. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers. 
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to articulate our value proposition and solutions. 
  • Work on-site in the DC area, with potential flexibility based on business needs.  
     

What You Will Need 

  • Experience in building and managing a sales/solutions team. 
  • Experience in working with NRO and Space Force. 
  • Active or eligible TS/SCI clearance 
  • Solid technical understanding of satellite systems and command and control 
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of closing Government contracts on the order of $2-50M. 
  • Previous roles as Director or VP of Sales, Solutions, Business Development 
  • Solutions and engineering background for technical fluency are a plus 
     

Salary 

  • Base Salary: $150,000-$200,000 
  • Quarterly bonus compensations against sales targets
