We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Facilities Technician to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and efficient operation of our facilities. This role combines custodial responsibilities with light maintenance tasks, contributing to a welcoming and functional environment for employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities Maintenance:
- Conduct basic repairs and maintenance, such as light carpentry, locksmithing, electrical, fixing minor plumbing issues, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting or addressing general wear and tear.
- Monitor HVAC, lighting, and security systems to ensure proper operation.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down furniture or equipment for meetings, events, or office reconfigurations.
- Report any larger maintenance or safety concerns to the Facilities Manager.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- General Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA and company safety policies.
- Maintain records of maintenance and cleaning schedules.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with staff and visitors.
- Understand the importance of aesthetics and the need to present a professional and clean property.
- Support special projects or tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
Custodial Duties:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of floors, carpets, and surfaces.
- Sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure areas are clean and presentable.
- Dispose of trash and recycling in designated areas.
- Respond promptly to spills, stains, or other cleanliness issues as needed.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen or US Person
- High school diploma or equivalent; related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- 2+ years day porter/custodial/general maintenance experience.
- Basic knowledge of repair techniques (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Working knowledge of industry cleaning standards, basic tools, ladder use and safe practices
- Physical able to lift 40 pounds, bend, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualification:
- Ability to obtain a Secret level clearance.
- First Aid/AED/CPR trained.
- Knowledge of Building Emergency Action Plans
Work Environment:
- This position involves working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
- Exposure to cleaning agents, tools, and equipment is common.
- May be requested to work hours outside of normal operations as needed for emergencies and specific tasks that could be disruptive to business operations.
