We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to join our growing company. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement activities essential for the production and delivery of aerospace components, materials, and services. This role requires a deep understanding of the aerospace industry, supply chain dynamics, and strong vendor relationship management. The Procurement Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and logistics, to ensure that all procurement processes align with company goals, budgets, and timelines.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the organization’s needs for materials, components, and services while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for materials, components, and services. Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and competitive pricing.
  • Cost Optimization: Manage procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings. Collaborate with internal teams to optimize procurement processes and maximize cost-efficiency without compromising quality or safety standards.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, including terms and conditions, pricing, and delivery schedules. Ensure timely execution of contracts and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of critical materials and components to avoid shortages or excess stock. Coordinate with the production and engineering teams to maintain optimal stock levels for ongoing projects.
  • Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and supplier performance. Implement contingency plans for potential disruptions.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure procurement practices meet all industry standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that all procured components meet aerospace industry standards for safety and performance.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and logistics, to align procurement activities with project timelines and technical specifications. Provide regular reports to leadership on procurement activities, cost savings, supplier performance, and risk management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on aerospace, manufacturing, or highly technical industries.
  • Proven experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace industry standards, regulations (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001), and procurement best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, forecast needs, and solve complex problems.
  • Proficient in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-moving, startup environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to solving problems.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
