Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems Division is seeking to fill a Manager 1 position for the Integration & Test (I&T) Department located in Dulles Va.
This is a management position supporting personnel, training, processes, functional initiatives and multiple programs across the portfolio. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate leadership skills to achieve a sustainable top performance. She/He will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal/external stakeholders and customers. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics, integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. Additional job responsibilities:
- Managing of day-to-day I&T activities across the factory
- Helping set Program priorities as required
- Facilitate Daily Cross Program Coordination Meetings
- Provide Daily status, escalations & awareness to upper management
- Reviewing I&T performance during spacecraft integration and test and driving for continuous improvement
- Support development, implementation, guidance & review of Program CAM Roles & Responsibilities to I&T Program Managers; Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Ensuring adequate procedures, equipment, and facilities exist to deliver consistent spacecraft products
- Professional development and Career Goal planning for direct reports; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring, identification and training of skills required to execute on programs.
- Provides staffing and workload forecasting for the department
- Supports program tiger teams, RCCA investigations, deep dives, and pre-milestone reviews. Serve on boards and participate in program MRR, PDR, CDR, TRR reviews as required.
- Supporting Functional Homeroom initiatives and projects, which includes but is not limited to process improvements, event response teams, corrective and preventive action implementation and safety initiatives.
- Provides Problem Solving Expertise and capability to mentor the team in problem solving skills
- Support Cross Functional, Cross Division, and Community of Practice collaborative efforts.
- Develop/Support business proposal efforts and cost estimates for the department
- Coordinate facility maintenance and upgrades, assist in managing of facility outages (planned and unplanned)
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor in Science Degree in any of the STEM disciplines
- 5 years minimum Aerospace industry experience
- Minimum of 1 year of proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience leading cross-functional organizations
- Demonstrated expertise in Functional & Program Management
- Excellent written and oral communications skills and technical presentation experience
- This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain and hold a Top Secret/SCI clearance
Onsite position only – Not eligible for remote/virtual work
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a STEM field or MBA
Experience leading a Multifunctional team
Active TS/SCI Clearance
Knowledge of tracking budgets and providing cost estimates.
Practical experience with Lean manufacturing techniques
Experience in an Aerospace Manufacturing environment
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
