MASTER SCHEDULER - TOP SECRET CLEARANCE

SpaceX’s Special Programs team is looking for a dedicated and talented individual to develop, maintain, and help lead the execution of our highly dynamic mission and engineering development programs. This role requires proactive coordination of programmatic milestones, non-recurring engineering development, certification activities, manufacturing hardware delivery, launch pad & payload preparation, and on-orbit & recovery operations.  

As the team’s Master Scheduler, you will be at the nexus of all of these activities and will work to construct, maintain, and communicate multiple resource-aware projects in parallel. You’ll be empowered to identify & solve gaps in our engineering plans, implement improvements, and drive consistency across our proposals and active programs. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Lead the development of project schedules for complex government programs. 
• Coordinate, maintain, communicate, and present the critical path schedules.
• Alert engineering and programmatic leadership to potential issues, develop/coordinate a set of solutions, and then drive the team to positive outcomes.
• Quickly understand existing and future projects, assemblies, sequences, and constraints in order to actively de-conflict issues with several teams across multiple sites.
• Learn our engineering, production, launch site, and on-orbit operations in enough depth that you are able to critically evaluate them and drive process improvements.
• Work with SpaceX managers, supervisors and leads to ensure that your project plans reflect reality and key deliverables will be completed on time.
• Devise, maintain, and improve scheduling tools and processes that identify, analyze, and brief potential constraints on a weekly and daily basis.
• Facilitate and drive weekly schedule reviews with responsible engineers, ensuring up to date and accurate plans. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or 10+ years of professional work in the aerospace industry. 
• 3+ years of professional experience as an integrated master scheduler.
• Experience with medium to large sized (2000-8000 lines) projects.
• Experience with generating master schedules from many sub-tier projects.
• 4+ years of professional experience utilizing Microsoft Project. 
• Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI clearance or DOE Level Q clearance.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

• Understanding of the aerospace engineering lifecycle
• Demonstrated acumen with developing and coordinating the on-time execution of complex, multi-disciplinary engineering project
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, Project and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with Milestones Professional, OnePager Pro or equivalent.
• Coursework or training in Critical Path Analysis methodology.
• Experience performing schedule risk analysis techniques.
• Experience with resource loaded schedules.
• Experience analyzing schedules using Industry Standard Health Metrics.
• Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills including public speaking.
• Able to work and communicate well with others in a team environment.
• Able to be diplomatically persuasive or assertive when necessary.
• Highly skilled at taking in large quantities of information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work with limited supervision to develop and manage many levels of program plans and schedules simultaneously. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Active Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance. Note that an active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions. If so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing. 
• Must be willing to travel (approximately 10%) to other SpaceX locations, as necessary.
• Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg.
• Must be willing to work long hours and occasional weekends when necessary to support proposal or critical project timelines. 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:  

Pay Range:    

Master Scheduler: $110,000.00-$145,000.00/per year     

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Those with an active clearance will receive a 10% differential, up to an additional $15,000 annually, once officially briefed into a classified program.
