Supporting Strategic Deterrent Systems Division teams and leadership through graphic design, videography, illustration, photography, animation, and other forms of multimedia.

Embark on a career that will shape and uphold our nation’s national security through innovative and impactful communication strategies. Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrence Systems (SDS) Division Communications seeks a Senior Principal Multimedia Designer to join its team in our Roy, UT office.

Multimedia Designer will be responsible for supporting the division communications strategy and framework to drive SDS Division, Space System Sector and overall company business objectives.  

Qualified candidates must be prepared to thrive in a highly active environment that demands innovative thinking and use of tools to effectively communicate to a geographically dispersed workforce as well as to customers, the public, industry, stakeholders and others.  

This position is located in Roy, UT. May be able to move to a hybrid schedule with part-time telecommuting based on program requirements and business needs.

Job Duties:

  • Design and produce tier-1 quality graphics, animations and technical art support for a wide variety of applications including graphics, presentations, brochures, posters, flyers, banners, signs, manuals, forms, data/fact sheets, etc.
  • Support team with videography, editing, animation and photography as needed.  
  • Translates words and concepts into persuasive benefit-driven visuals that communicate data efficiently and effectively
  • As permitted, coordinates production of collateral work for various executive-level communications initiatives and for special projects
  • Ensure compliance and consistency to style guide standards.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution with 8 years minimum of related professional experience in graphics design, photography, videography, media or related work experience. OR – a Master’s degree with 6 years minimum of related experience – OR – 4 years minimum of related experience with PhD.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a large, matrixed and/or geographically dispersed organization
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence others.
  • Skilled in managing multiple projects/activities simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Professional acumen to develop relationships with various types and levels of professionals.
  • Experience in graphic design, photography, media or related work experience.  Or master's degree with 7 years of graphic design, photography, media or related work experience. 
  • Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier, After Effects etc.
  • Art, illustration, photography editing/retouch, video shooting/editing and design skills.
  • Creative ability to design animations, presentations, posters, and other publications as needed.
  • A solid portfolio of web, print, and digital design.
  • Experience working with the military, defense industry or government a plus.

    Salary Range: $89,100.00 - $133,200.00

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
