The Staff Supply Chain Specialist is a critical member of the team securing the hardware to produce and build BlackSky satellites. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring hardware deliveries that meet BlackSky’s business and technical targets, often navigating complex multi-party discussions to balance schedule, quality, and technical matters related to your suppliers. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to monitor and analyze supplier performance and proactively engage to create predictability in the supply chain. You will work with your team to continually improve supply chain operations and evolve internal practices to best support the needs of the business. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting and optimizing the material supply chain to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations across procurement, inventory control and material planning.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, programs, and production to align supply chain activities with overall business objectives.
  • Balance supplier cost, risk, and quality to support business and technical roadmap through regular supplier evaluation and selection.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Understand, negotiate, and enforce contracts with legal support and maintain supply chain in accordance with U.S. government contract requirements.
  • Support the supply chain organization in overseeing programs from cradle to grave.
  • Monitor and recommend supply chain operational improvements; work with management and team to implement as required.
  • Monitor and analyze supplier performance and ensure supplier delivery against contractual requirements.
  • Understand, negotiate, and enforce contracts with management and legal support.
  • Support budgeting and pricing efforts related to supply chain hardware.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of six years of supply chain management experience.
  • A minimum two years supply chain management experience in the space industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing procurements of both commercial off the shelf and complex custom-designed technical components.
  • Comfortable supporting the procurement process, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Previous experience analyzing supply chain data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement and generating reports to provide insights to support decision-making within the supply chain function.
  • Familiarity with U.S. government contract flow downs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or Supply chain or equivalent experience.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a US security clearance, which requires US citizenship.

The anticipated salary range for candidates in Seattle, WA is $120,000 to $132,000 per year. The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education. BlackSky is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect salary ranges in other states or locations outside of Seattle, WA.
