Chief Human Resources Officer
Redwire is looking for a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team with responsibility for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent acquisition and management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and benefits and compensation. The CHRO provides strategic leadership by articulating HR plans to the executive management team and the board of directors. This position is directly responsible for leading a team of HR and talent acquisition professionals. The CHRO will report to Redwire’s Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, and is expected to work out of our Chantilly, VA office, though other locations, including remote, will be considered for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company's mission and strategic vision.
- Partner with our business leaders to create, implement, and facilitate plans and strategies to enhance the success of the business.
- Cultivate a culture of investing in our employees and providing critical programs to bolster business success and growth.
- Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or functional area regarding key organizational and management issues.
- Build succession plans including gap analysis and training plans for future growth.
- Work with the Board and compensation committee on matters of executive compensation and equity programs.
- Create comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to reduce attrition and meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
- Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are innovative, competitive and cost-effective.
- Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition and development, succession planning, high-potentials program, mentorships, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits globally.
- Evolve HR function to meet the needs of our employees and business by actively listening, learning from our annual survey, and pro-actively forging innovative solutions.
- Nurture, inspire, and motivate a growing team of HR and talent acquisition professionals in the United States and Europe.
- Formulate career development plans that foster employee growth, engagement and retention.

- Lead employee engagement efforts to attract and retain top talent and establish our organization as an employer of choice.
- Mitigate risk and ensure all HR functions are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to HR team, managers and employees and ensure effective conflict resolution and communication.
- Develop HR policies that align with our mission, values and business objectives, ensuring consistency across all business locations, domestically and internationally.
- Analyze the effectiveness of our HR procedures, tools, and systems, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and employee experience and to scale to meet the needs of our growing business.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to provide a dashboard of insights and data-driven recommendations on workforce planning and talent management.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and changes in labor legislation, incorporating them into HR strategies and policies.
- Lead organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and stakeholder buy-in.
Ideal Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, organizational psychology, or a relevant field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- 20+ years of experience in human resources management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role as a CHRO, SVP of HR, or in a similar strategic HR leadership role. International HR experience is ideal.
- Prior experience driving key results using metrics and analytics.
- In-depth knowledge of all HR functions, including but not limited to performance management, employee relations, legal compliance and overall workforce strategy.
- Experienced in strategic planning, organizational development, talent management, compensation and benefits, problem-solving.
- Experience working with the Board of Directors and compensation committee of a public company.
- Prior experience at a high-tech company/industry, in emerging growth phase with the ability to help scale a business.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, varied human resource information systems.
- Ability to travel, up to 25%.
