Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) seeks a highly qualified individual to represent the interests of the LCS Class Mission Package program as an Engineer Technical Services/Mission Module Maintenance Engineer (MMME) for maintenance and sustainment of all Mission Package equipment on San Diego based LCS Class ships. This position will be located at Mission Module Readiness Center (MMRC) San Diego Office.
What You'll Get To Do:
The Engineer Technical Services/ MMME will be responsible for the overall maintenance execution of the MPSF Mission Package assets embarked on the LCS Class ships in theater to ensure fleet maintenance and logistics support requirements are appropriately supported. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the operational and maintenance requirements of the mission package to ensure their mission readiness, and will serve as the primary representative for all mission package maintenance and modernization that occurs in theater.
A key function of this position will include interface with the ship’s crew, department heads, and Commanding Officer to coordinate and resolve mission package related maintenance and repair actions relative to the maintenance plan.
The Engineer Technical Services/ MMME candidate shall be experienced in planning and estimating support for the maintenance and repair of the Mission Package. Duties include but are not limited to maintenance availability planning and supervision, embark and debark planning and supervision, and life cycle sustainment planning and execution.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Identify and schedule Planned Maintenance System (PMS) requirements
Utilize Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) to create, manage, screen and schedule Automated Work Notification (AWN) (i.e., 2K) for workload determination
Work with equipment SME to identify corrective maintenance requirements
Identify other maintenance requirements (assessments)
Coordinated Ship Maintenance Plan (CSMP) Management
Execute Planned and Corrective Maintenance Planning Support (PMAV/CMAV) Availabilities
Determining personnel required (numbers and skills)
Identify parts, consumables, tools required
Identify test and inspection requirements
Quality Control Inspection (Spot Checks)
Draft electronic Work Authorization Form (eWAF)
Report Operational Readiness to LCSRON and MPSF
Risk Assessments / identify mitigation courses of action
Engage with Navy representatives, government program offices, Fleet Sailors, and shipyard / other contractors.
Data collection for trend analysis and to support causative research
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; Master’s Degree with 0 year related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Proven experience planning and executing preventative and corrective maintenance availability activities on U.S. Navy ships
Basic understanding of MOFM/AWN Job Development and Management (or equivalent USN maintenance system)
Candidate will be required to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access quarters onboard a US Navy warship and other spaces, climbing 20 ft ladders and standing for long periods of time on a Navy ship or pier, lifting 50 lbs or more.
Required to have an active Interim Secret Clearance to start and must have the ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Port Engineer supporting US Navy warships
Practical experience on the LCS Class ships
Experience in Navy maintenance to include Ship’s Maintenance and Material Management (3M), Preventive Maintenance, and Corrective Maintenance specifically SKED 3.2 and MFOM AWN respectively
