Job Overview & Responsibilities
Join the ULA team and make your mark on the future of spaceflight by helping launch our next generation launch system, Vulcan, as well as the Atlas V launch system. ULA launch vehicles have demonstrated unparalleled success in defense, space exploration, and communications missions. You will be joining a passionate and motivated team that works together in a fast-paced environment to meet our customer’s growing needs and to help solve their toughest integration and operational challenges.
In your role in Structural Dynamics, you will perform dynamic response analysis of ULA Launch Systems, including boosters, upper stages, secondary structures, engines and motors, payload accommodations, and spacecraft across two rocket families: Vulcan, and Atlas V.
- The Structural Dynamicist is a highly analytical role, defining design loads, accelerations, and displacements to establish design requirements and works with structural analysts to verify designs.
- Assignments require an interest in multi-degree-of-freedom dynamic analysis, utilizing mathematical modeling with finite element and component mode synthesis methods, transient, frequency, and random response analysis, and dynamic model correlation and validation.
- Tasks will support career development in dynamics techniques by working with and learning from a highly experienced team, following established guidelines.
- Assignments also require developing, documenting, and maintaining processes, methods, and software tools to accomplish assignments.
- This role includes resolution of programmatic and technical problems that affect cost, schedule, and performance.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration within the Structural Dynamics team and across multiple engineering and integration disciplines are required, as well as strong communication skills to learn analysis techniques, generate analysis reports and present results to internal and external customers.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience or coursework in structural dynamics/vibrations and finite element analysis
- Experience or coursework developing software for mathematical and engineering application
- Experience or coursework in Matlab and Python
- Experience or coursework in Linear Algebra and FEA
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in engineering, physics with Minor in Math or Computer Science
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with NASTRAN, NX, FEMAP, or other Finite Element Modeling software
- Experience developing models, methodology, and software to perform multi-degree of freedom dynamic response analysis
- Experience performing loads and dynamic analysis of aerospace vehicles
- Experience performing transient response and random response analyses of multi-degree of freedom structures
- Experience performing software development in an object-oriented environment
- Experience with software configuration control
- Experience working in Linux environment
- Strong time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks
- Experience in successful, collaborative teams, supporting various roles
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to flourish in a team environment (class projects considered acceptable)
Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver only): $68,223.00 - $113,704.00
Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
