Job Overview & Responsibilities
As an Operations Analysis Specialist, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing and managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects, while serving as a liaison between project management and planning, the project team, and line management.
- Reviewing the status of projects and budgets, managing schedules, and preparing status reports.
- Assessing project issues and developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Developing mechanisms for monitoring project progress, intervening, and problem-solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
- Receiving Launch Operations Engineering support requirements, preparing base and range support requests, routing them for distribution, and following up to ensure completion.
- Receiving inputs to programmatic meetings, organizing and enhancing presentations, and scheduling and conducting meetings.
- Interfacing with customers to facilitate IT access requests, facility access, badging, parking, seating, and other day-to-day communication to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assisting in Launch Operations procedure administration and training new engineers on proper authoring practices.
- Compiling and publishing readiness materials, rehearsal, and day-of-launch products.
- Providing day-to-day support to program management and manifest execution activities.
- Supporting detailed and strategic planning and scheduling.
- Creating and maintaining metrics for organizational health, propellant usage, and cost trend analysis to present findings to management.
Required Education
Bachelor
Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Four years of directly related exempt work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Project Management concepts or tools
- Basic understanding of scientific terminology, units of measure and conversion factors, trend analysis and basic software applications
- Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and personal transportation to drive between work locations on a military base where public transportation is not available. Job duties require traveling between locations on the military base throughout the course of the day.
Preferred Qualifications
- General understanding of launch operations processes and protocol
- General understanding of launch base and range operations and systems
- Experience with and knowledge of current ULA primary customers (Space Force, Office of Space Launch, NASA, Commercial)
- Experience working IT applications (SharePoint, COGNOS, SAP, experience are all a plus)
- Willingness to develop and execute new, innovative, and improved processes
- Experience with scheduling processes and tools
- Demonstrated communication (verbal and written) expertise
- Demonstrated collaboration skills
Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Vandenberg AFB only): $63,977.00 - $106,629.00
Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
