About The Position

As an AFP Tech your primary focus will be operating and maintaining the AFP robot. Along with any ancillary task in order to continue efficient operations of the AFP robot (i.e. spool replacement, AFP head cleaning, and calibration of AFP robot). 

 

Your role will also involve handling, cutting, and bonding various composite panels and laminates using thermosets. Assembly of composite components into various sub-assemblies. You will be exposed to a wide range of hand tools and precision tools. Have an understanding of how to interpret drawings to meet component tolerances. In addition, maintain flexibility to explore manufacturing processes for future composite projects. 

General Requirements:

• 2+ years of operating an AFP robot and 2+ years composite experience
• Understanding of 3D CAD Software (i.e. PTC Creo)
• Understanding of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Documentation recording and material usage logging
• Able to work in a team environment and independently

Preferred Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in Aviation and/or Aerospace
• Motivated self-starter and willing to learn and develop
• Knowledgeable in Metal bonding practices
• Capable of vacuum bagging parts consisting of complex curves
• Proficient with various hand sanding, cutting, and drilling equipment
  1. i.e Palm Sanders, Die Grinders, Hand Drills, other pneumatic and/or electric tools
