We are looking for an LTV Insight Integrator (Sr. Project Engineer – Systems Engineering) to support the LTV project team at the NASA Johnson Space Center.  The insight integrator is an integration/coordination role that supports the insight leads and LTV PM to align the three insight teams on topics and tasks with commonality across multiple insight teams.  This includes processes, actions, contractor questions/inputs that apply to more than one contractor, and managing the risks assigned to the insight team.  They also assist with general organization and support activities from Insight Leads (ILs) and Lead Systems Engineers to provide a consistent source of information and support to reduce the risk for potential issues of conflicting information across the Contractors by ensuring that information being provided to the Contractors is correct and identifies gaps/conflicts between Contractors for fair competition.  The role requires someone who is organized, efficient, understands strategy and connect the dots/finds commonality across the three insight teams. 

Work Model

This is a full-time position based in Houston, TX, offering an 100% onsite work model with remote flexibility as the business needs allow. 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the LTV Project insight team at NASA Johnson Space Center, which is responsible for managing insight activities with the LTVS contractor teams.
  • Attend contractor working groups and insight forums to document common questions for requirements and deliverables ​
  • Ensure consistent responses and access to information for all contractors​ and tracking of 'common' questions and answers provided by LTV project team
  • Identify areas of interest for contractors and coordinates with subject matter experts for additional information​
  • Identifying/sourcing and releasing previous NASA studies​ and reference information as needed based on insight team or LTVS contractor request.
  • Setting up and supporting technical interchange meetings​, milestones, and other insight meetings, including identification of relevant stakeholders required to attend and documenting/tracking actions for the insight team from assignment through closure
  • Conduct early reviews of contractor deliverables and assist LTV SE team with distribution/coordination of reviews
  • Serve as the bridge between LTV Systems Engineering cross-stakeholder integration team and Insight Teams
  • Develop project SE&I documents as needed: Review, comment, maintain, and update project level documents as needed
  • Conduct CRs (external documents routed to LTV for review/comment) related to system specifications documents and work with the SE technical coordinators to ensure alignment with project needs

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for the Senior Project Engineer – Systems Engineering

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another related STEM discipline
  • At least 10 years of professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in systems engineering and technical interfaces
  • Knowledge of exploration mobility topics and technology
  • Experience with the NASA program life cycle and system engineering processes
  • Successful experience leading and performing technical and programmatic tasks for NASA, including NASA SEI analysis cycle tasks
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with government and contractor personnel
  • Proven ability to successfully work across multiple organizations
  • Demonstrated expertise working across diverse teams and multiple engineering disciplines
  • Initiative and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
  • Excellent presentation and communications skills, including development and briefing of informational packages and presenting of complex information in a succinct and polished manner 
  • Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site/domestically approx. 10%
  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • Advanced degree in engineering, science, or another related STEM discipline
  • Hands on background with space suits, surface mobility (rovers), and habitation concepts and technology
  • Working experience with NASA commercial contract milestone strategies, NASA firm fixed price contracts, scope management, and implementation
  • Working experience with human-in-the-loop (HITL) testing, including simulator-based evaluations and similar risk reduction activities.
