What We Need 
 
As a Sustaining Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of product enhancements, issue resolution, component obsolescence, and operational improvements for our existing products. You will work closely with product management, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to drive initiatives that sustain product quality, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. This position requires strong project management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work across teams to deliver high-impact results. The successful candidate will play a key role in a truly world-class, multidisciplinary team that’s reinventing satellite communications technology to provide the next generation of mobile connectivity. 
  
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Lead and manage sustaining programs that improve existing products and ensure their continued performance. 
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, quality, operations, product management, and other key departments. 
  • Prioritize, define, and scope sustaining initiatives to optimize product quality, reduce cost of goods sold (COGS), and improve customer experience. 
  • Identify product issues, risks and root causes, leading teams in the development and execution of corrective actions. 
  • Own project timelines, risk assessments, budgets, and resources for sustaining efforts, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope. 
  • Track and report progress on key metrics, and provide regular updates to stakeholders, including senior management. 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of product lifecycle documentation. 
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies. 
  
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management, preferably in a product development, manufacturing, or sustaining role. 
  • Proven track record in leading sustaining engineering or product management efforts within a technology-driven company. 
  • Strong understanding of product life cycle management, PLM software (e.g. Arena) and experience with sustaining products in production. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop practical solutions. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., JIRA, MS Project) and data analysis tools. 
  • Experience with hardware and/or software product sustaining. 
  • Familiarity with global supply chain management and manufacturing processes. 
  • PMP or equivalent certification. 
  
EDUCATION 
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, Mathematics or related field   
  
COMPENSATION 
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $120,000 - $175,000. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
