Job description
As an Inventory Specialist at Impulse, you are integral to ensuring that every component, tool, and raw material needed for spacecraft, engines and mission-critical systems are accounted for and readily available. Manage inventory levels, track high-value aerospace parts, coordinate shipments, and optimize warehouse operations to support rapid production and assembly. Whether it's managing flight hardware, handling logistics, or improving inventory systems, your work directly contributes to launching groundbreaking missions beyond Earth.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently handle the receipt, storage, and issuance of a wide variety of parts, materials, and hardware to support operations, ensuring all items are accounted for and properly stored in designated locations
- Perform receiving inspection verifications on incoming components, assemblies, and materials to ensure conformity with certifications, specifications, and design requirements
- Utilize electronic ERP system for accurate routing of parts and components to appropriate departments, maintaining strict adherence to material handling practices and procedures
- Execute picking functions to assemble necessary kits of parts, material, and hardware, verifying the availability and accuracy of all components in the kit
- Conduct routine and precise cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy, and support the organization's goals and objectives through diligent monitoring of shelf-life storage and stock rotation
- Develop and implement ways to streamline processes site-wide, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the shipping and receiving domain
- Communicate effectively with internal customers and suppliers to resolve any inspection discrepancies or issues related to inventory management
- Perform general housekeeping, safety, and 5S practices in the work area, ensuring a clean and safe environment
- Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment as necessary for the movement, conveyance, or hoisting of shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage or work areas
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of demonstrated experience in inventory control, warehousing, or supply chain position, with a preference for receiving, precision, mechanical, or metrological inspection experience
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of inventory control experience, ideally within a large manufacturing facility such as aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields
- Proficient in operating forklifts and other related inventory equipment, with a strong understanding of inventory and kitting processes
- Advanced knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and functions, with excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, with experience in GD&T and the use of metrology tools and gauges
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional disciplines, with a self-starter attitude and the ability to drive positive outcomes in ill-defined problems or processes
Additional Information:
- Flexibility to work various shifts including overtime and weekends as needed to meet critical deadlines
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted and perform physical activities including lifting, standing, climbing, bending, and walking for up to 75% of the shift time
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
