The Boeing Company is seeking an Experienced Software Engineer to join the Space Mission Systems Software Team in Chantilly, VA. We are looking for a skilled, motivated, and creative software developer to develop innovative solutions and support the existing capabilities of an agile software program for the national intelligence community.

This program develops and maintains a Collection Planning and Mission Management system widely used within the Intelligence community. This software system has become integral to imaging operations by facilitating scheduling, analysis, and mission awareness for multiple space imaging platforms. Develop advanced innovative software systems for the space intelligence community.  The organization executes software programs to deliver analytic, planning, scheduling, command & control, and orchestration capabilities focused on user and mission needs.

Position Responsibilities: 

• Analyzing high-level customer requirements and deriving lower-level functional requirements.

• Software development tasks include detailed software design, coding, and testing customers' desired features/user stories.

• Briefing software designs and demonstrating software release functionality to users.

• Develop and sustain new and existing applications and troubleshoot and resolve various software issues.

• Contribute to creating new distributed components and interactions that align with the future system architecture.  The existing multi-tiered system is developed on a cloud infrastructure with several consumer-facing web applications.

• This position is contingent upon clearance verification and program/customer concurrence. Offer is contingent upon security approval for program access.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements: 
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active) This position also requires Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) eligibility. (TS/SCI)

Coding Challenge:
To be considered for this position, you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.  Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• 3+ years’ experience in foundational CS knowledge and object-oriented design and software patterns

• Experience with version control systems such as Git, IBM Rational Team Concert, etc.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree

• Must be willing to sit for a CI Polygraph after start date

• Solid experience in Java (2+ years)

• Experience with one or more of the following: HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, Firebug and JS frameworks (REACT, jQuery, jQuery UI, Open Layers, etc.), Spring Framework, Hibernate, RDBMS, MongoDB, XML, SOAP, REST, WSDL/Web Service protocols

• Experience using dependency management (Ivy, Maven, Gradle)

• Experience developing and maintaining SOAP, RMI, REST APIs and interfaces

• Experience using cloud-based infrastructure (AWS)

• Experience using automation server (Jenkins)

• Experience/knowledge of the GEOINT domain

• Familiarity with practices such as test-driven development (TDD), agile software development, continuous integration, and dependency management is preferred

• Security Certification such as Security+ or CISSP

Typical Education:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. 

Relocation: 
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.  Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates. 

Travel:
Occasional business travel and after-hours support may be required.

Summary Pay Range: $114,750 - $155,250
