The Aerospace Corporation is hiring an Undergraduate or Graduate-level Employee Relations Intern.

The mission of People Operations is to provide strategies and organizational solutions that enable our workforce to deliver unparalleled value to our customers and mission. As a member of the People Management team you will be part of the Center of Expertise (COE) responsible for Performance Management and Employee Relations.

Work Model

This position will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with some onsite work required in El Segundo, CA.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support employee relations staff in the review and response to employee issues by contributing objective guidance regarding employment policies, employment practices, and achieve resolution of issues for performance deficiencies, misconduct, and accommodation.

  • Research, understand, and interpret policy and practice as it relates to PO programs.

  • Create summary reports and recommendations for leadership review.

  • Assist with quarterly reporting and analysis of employee relations issues.

  • Support the Performance Management, Performance and Development Process lifecycle; monitor year-end process timeline; create job aids and training materials; support and track testing for all enhancements.

  • Training and mentorship will be provided.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Behavioral Sciences, Psychology, Business or related discipline 

  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.

  • Junior class standing completed by internship start date 

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0  

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) 

  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • Transcripts required 

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: 

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Human Resources, Behavioral Sciences, Psychology, Business or related discipline 

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher 

  • Completion of a minimum of two classes in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Conflict Resolution, Public Speaking, Organizational Communication, Data Processing, Law or other Business-related subjects 

  • Knowledge of human resources policies and practices

  • Knowledge of federal and state law as it relates to HR programs

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.  The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.  Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
