We are looking for you to join our team as an Electrical Engineer or Principal Electrical Engineer based out of Chantilly, VA.

What You’ll get to Do:

This position will primarily be located in Chantilly, VA within the SIGINT Technology Center's (STC). The STC is where technology and teamwork come together to meet the unique needs of the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. The STC is comprised of multiple mission-focused programs with projects ranging from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) SIGINT payload and data link development to OCONUS/CONUS mission/maintenance support. STC tasks include system design, engineering development, system integration, hands-on build and test, field operations and maintenance, training, and production.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Support design, integration, test, and document operations of hardware components and high-level systems

• Support operations and maintenance of fielded SIGINT systems

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to upgrade and improve developmental and fielded systems to maximize uptime and capabilities

• Develop and execute troubleshooting procedures for use in real time operations, OCONUS test sites, and System Integration Labs (SILs)

• Interface and collaborate with customers, end users, operators, and Field Service Representatives

This requisition may be filled at either an Electrical Engineer or Principal Electrical Engineer.

Basic Qualifications for Electrical Engineer:

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent STEM related discipline.

• Minimum of 2 Years of experience with a bachelor's degree; Minimum of 0 Years with master's degree; Minimum of 0 Years experience with PhD

• Ability to obtain a Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

• Strong interdisciplinary problem-solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts, and techniques

• Experience with lab test equipment such as function generator, oscilloscope, multi-meter, spectrum analyzers, etc.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Electrical Engineer:

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent STEM related discipline.

• Minimum of 5 Years of experience with a bachelor's degree; Minimum of 3 Years with master's degree; Minimum of 0 Years experience with PhD

• Ability to obtain a Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

• Strong interdisciplinary problem-solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts, and techniques

• Experience with lab test equipment such as function generator, oscilloscope, multi-meter, spectrum analyzers, etc.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

• A background in test, design, and integration

• Knowledge of RF system components & functions

• Proficient with RF test equipment

• Experience in cable design and testing

• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance

• Experience with schematic design tools (e.g. Mentor Graphics, Zuken, etc.)

• Knowledge and familiarity with Windows and Linux Operating Systems, specifically the ability to execute in command line and rapidly navigate both operating systems

• Experience with networking and system architecture

Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Salary Range 2: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
