Working in the AIT Team
This team is the workshop for Open Cosmos satellite missions! We provide engineering support during the design phase then actually build and test the satellite - it doesn’t get much cooler than this!
What will you be doing?
You will be manufacturing some of the subsystems and harnesses that will be integrated into the satellites.
You will also be supporting prototyping and modifications of electronics boards and harnesses. You may be required to travel to some of our other locations to support workload punctually.
You will also support aspects relating to quality and stock management, keeping clear and appropriate documentation. Throughout all stages you are engaging with colleagues from R&D and AIT departments.
What you need to be successful
- You have the ability to meticulously inspect PCB assemblies to ECSS standards.
- You are proficient in harness fabrication techniques conforming to ECSS/IPC-620 standards.
- You have demonstrated expertise in crimping and soldering a variety of connectors, including M80/G125, Micro-D, and Nano-D, for both standard and shielded cables.
- You are comfortable using a range of soldering equipment, including soldering irons, PCA heaters, and hot air rework stations.
- You understand the practical implications of working in a clean room environment and apply this in your work
- You’ll be proactive and curious in your approach to work, always looking for more effective ways of doing things
