This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we’re developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin’s mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies.

As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will manage JIRA and Confluence, provide support to our engineers and staff, and administer other Atlassian related technology solutions. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of Enterprise Technology. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
Responsibilities:
Become familiar with current setup/structure/configuration of our current Atlassian implementation
Evaluate and manage the use of Atlassian add-ons
Build on existing methods to help teams fully utilize Jira/Confluence/Statuspage
Administer Jira, including custom projects, workflows, fields, dashboards, and integrations
Identify areas within Blue Origin for speeding execution through Jira and other Atlassian tools
Lead, train, and promote Jira usage in high-priority areas
Set up, maintain, optimize, and configure Jira, including:
Testing/Sandbox/POC
Production Setup and Workflows
Troubleshooting and ad hoc refinements
User management
Roles and permissions
Project setup
Manage integration and maintenance of third-party software/plugins
Use Scriptrunner and Automation for Jira
Handle complex object schemas in Jira assets
Familiarity with Java and Python
Collaborate with relevant teams to optimize workflows and ensure data accessibility
Understand business needs to refine the system according to corporate requirements
Train relevant teams on system usage
Qualifications:
B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Expert-level Jira administration with over 3 years of experience in the Atlassian tool suite, including 1+ years in Jira administration
Experience in process automation and technology efficiency
Service-oriented with a passion for identifying and serving needs
High energy with the ability to train and effect change
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Desired:
3+ years in design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of applications (Jira/Confluence).
Knowledge of project management (agile and waterfall).
Understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and ITSM (IT Service Management) frameworks
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $121,323.00-$169,852.20Other site ranges may differ
