Summary:
The Firefly Finance team seeks an experienced, energetic, and service-oriented Accounts Payable Manager who is passionate about details to support our growing organization. Reporting to the Controller, this position will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function and team, managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, providing weekly payment plans, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. You will establish policies, document standard operating procedures and implement internal controls and efficient processes.
The ideal candidate is motivated, self-directed, and comfortable communicating with vendors and working with employees at all levels of the company in a fast-paced work environment.

The role is based at the Firefly HQ in Cedar Park, TX. You will report to the Controller and work closely with stakeholders across the company. This is an execution-heavy role that requires strong collaboration with various teams and a hands-on approach to getting things done. You will have the opportunity to grow with the company as we scale and develop your leadership skills. Responsibilities:
• Oversee the A/P team that processes a high volume of invoices, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all steps, including receiving invoices, matching to purchase orders, coding, and reviewing.
• Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing invoices.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors, resolving any payment issues and ensuring optimal terms and conditions.
• Lead and mentor a team of three accounts payable specialists, providing coaching, training, and development to ensure high performance and career growth.
• Manage monthly reconciliations of accounts payable ledgers and vendor statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Work closely with other departments, including procurement and finance, to ensure alignment and streamline processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement and finance, to align on process improvements and ensure smooth, efficient workflows.
• Continually seek ways to improve process efficiencies.
• Prepare and present weekly reports on accounts payable metrics, cash flow forecasting, and vendor performance.
• Oversee monthly reconciliations and accruals of accounts payable ledgers and vendor statements to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications:
Required
• 7+ years of experience in accounts payable (or equivalent relevant experience) in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years in an accounts payable manager position of a public company.
• A coaching mindset to lead and mentor the accounts payable team, providing training and guidance to ensure high performance and development.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and evolving responsibilities.
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
• Excellent process improvement skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with personnel at all levels of the organization and external vendors.
• Highly energetic, hands-on leader with experience developing a team.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficient in data entry and management.
• Highly motivated, collaborative, hard-working, and able to work in a fast-paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment.
• Accounts Payable Manager certification, a plus.
• Passionate about improvement and receptive to feedback.
• Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
