RELIABILITY TEST SPECIALIST, STARLINK AVIATION
The Reliability Test Specialist will have a key role in the Starlink Aviation Reliability organization. In addition to running environmental tests and root-causing failures, this role will be responsible for bringing the new Starlink Aviation reliability lab online. We’re looking for technical, hands-on people who are passionate about building awesome products for consumers and aviation customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Execute environmental tests and create test reports to be submitted to the FAA and to customers.
- Identify test infrastructure requirements and interface with relevant stakeholders and owners to ensure seemlees activation of the new lab.
- Operate and maintain environmental and functional test equipment for all Starlink products, with a focus on safety, proper execution, repeatability.
- Design custom fixtures and procure tooling for development and acceptance tests
- Utilize internal manufacturing planning and test execution software to run flight parts through test
- Perform level 1 root-cause analysis on mechanical and board-level failures
- Aid in efforts to uncover root-cause of test equipment failures and develop permanent resolution on issues found during test operations
- Identify test equipment requirements for planned tests, maintain inventory, and develop test procedures and processes accordingly
- Process development and validation on new equipment and tests with extremely aggressive timelines
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of experience working in a test environment
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong understanding of technical documentation, engineering drawings, and schematics
- Experience working with PCBAs/electronics and structures
- Strong computer and analytical skills including proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, shop floor management software (ERP) and related programs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to work extended hours or weekends as needed
- Up to 25% of travel or more may be required.
- Ability to lift 25lbs. unassisted
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
