MASTER SCHEDULER (STARLINK)

The Master Scheduler will interface with launch vehicle stakeholders and program leadership to understand our objectives while working with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to develop Targets that satisfy those objectives. They will have had relevant experience in a large manufacturing or logistics facility, with proven experience of program management in a challenging manufacturing operation. Previous experience of dealing with design engineering and R&D operations would be an advantage.

The Master Scheduler will ensure all planning targets are set within our internal system, track progress against the schedule (actuals and forecasts), and liaise with relevant stakeholders to identify any potential Bill of Material (BOM) configuration issues and/or production delays to formulate and take any necessary mitigating actions. To be successful in this role, the Master Scheduler will be able to interpret signals from across the company, understand critical path drivers, formulate a recommendation, and effectively communicate this to leadership.

The role will require critical thinking and decision making, consistency and professionalism, and the can-do drive required to succeed in a high-pressure environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for top line demand for the production of Starlink Satellites with the expectation to expand into new products as necessary
  • Provide clear recommendations to drive companywide priorities that align with Executive Leadership expectations
  • Understand the entire production system, processes, and capabilities and ensure their production needs are accurately reflected into the top-level Master Schedule plan
  • Notify relevant parties of upcoming schedule/BOM/production constraints, risks, options, and work to develop tactical actions to keep the factory on schedule.
  • Ability to influence working culture on the shop floor with the Production Team, implementing best practice supply and flow processes.
  • Working closely with Supply Chain, Production, and Engineering customers to understand their needs when constructing the target plans.
  • Driving the development of efficient, accurate, and timely schedule change propagation.
  • To drive process stabilization and improvement through innovative process solutions.
  • Resolving top-level BOM configurations, critical path, and lead-time discrepancies to determine true root cause through to solution implementation.
  • Metric development to demonstrate process accountability, stability and improvement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of professional experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a scheduler or a scheduler manager in a technical organization
  • 2+ years of professional experience with generating development and production schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • SQL programming experience
  • Experience working with Material Resource Planning (MRP) Systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Skilled at taking in large quantities of information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner
  • Must be well organized, a fast learner, someone who takes initiative
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to develop and manage program plans and schedules. Understanding of a product development process in an engineering environment and the transition to production process in a business environment.
  • Analytical and organizational skills, able to be diplomatically persuasive or assertive when necessary.
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others in a team environment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May need to work irregular hours with global suppliers in different time zones
  • Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:          
Master Scheduler: $110,000.00 - $145,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
