We are looking to add a Facilities Engineer to our team. In this position you will primarily be responsible for supporting our Austin facilities including our manufacturing operations. This role has broad responsibilities ranging from maintenance of facilities and complex manufacturing equipment to working with contractors, planning construction, and overseeing janitorial services. As a growing company, you will have the opportunity to also support facilities needs across multiple locations.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining day-to-day facility operations ensuring our spaces are productive for our team and show-worthy for external visitors.
- Work directly with our functional management teams to understand their facility needs and provide solutions to support their needs.
- Identify and build relationships with facility and equipment vendors and contractors to support maintenance and upgrades. Serve as the primary point of contact with maintenance, janitorial staff, building management, landlords, inspectors, and other external partners.
- Oversee the coordination of contractors and vendors for installations and alterations to our facilities.
- Perform hands-on maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment including complex PCB manufacturing and test equipment.
- Perform a variety of carpentry, painting, electrical repair and maintenance duties.
- Assemble various types of furniture and equipment.
- Create and maintain preventative maintenance programs for our manufacturing and office and facilities.
- Provide facilities support and vendor/contractor coordination for remote facilities.
- Function as the project manager for major renovation projects including all aspects of architectural design, construction, timeline, and implementation logistics for all facilities.
- Partner with IT to ensure well-functioning facility access control systems, including video monitoring and security systems. Provide facilitates-related support for implementation and maintenance of security systems.
- Ensure cost effective solutions in line with organizational needs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of experience working in Facilities Engineering/Management, Project Management
- Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described.
- Work experience in one or more of the building trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry).
- Familiarity with construction management, fire safety requirements, and common construction codes.
- Must be computer literate.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills,
- Great project management and problem-solving skills.
- Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
- Must have the ability and willingness to travel as needed.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience supporting multi-facility, multi-state organizations.
- Experience opening new facility locations, both office and manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety laws and regulations and experience supporting EH&S activities.
