Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer. This role will be in Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
The selected engineer will be responsible for supporting cyber/software requirement derivation and verification planning for the Command and Launch - Command and Control Team. The engineer will be responsible for performing tasks dealing with requirement decomposition, compliance tracking, and verification planning and verification execution. This will also include:
- Support MBSE strategy and implementation for the organization
- Support requirement decomposition and traceability for software applications
- Develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for subsystem components.
- Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.
- Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive system level evaluations.
- Modeling, Simulation & Analysis for specific aspects of the system.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 2 years of experience; 0 years with master’s degree.
- Active Secret clearance with an investigation date within past 6 years.
- Ability to obtain SAP special access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.
- Minimum 6 months - 1 year of experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering concepts
- Minimum 6 months - 1 year of experience using existing program MBSE tools (Cameo/DOORS)
- Minimum 6 months - 1 year of experience modeling system behavior using Systems Modeling Language (SysML) or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of Requirements Development and Decomposition
- Experience with Product Engineering Development and Life Cycles
- Experience with Department of Defense and/or Missile Systems
- Experience with Agile development
- Experience with Atlassian Products such as JIRA, Confluence, ext.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $85,400.00 - $128,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
