We’re on the hunt for a Human Resources Administrator at our Harwell office in the UK.
MDA Space’s international footprint in the UK creates opportunities to work with some of the most exciting space industrial players in the country. Delivering all three business area capabilities in Geo Intelligence, Robotics & Space Operations, and Satellite Systems, our UK team provides support to our European-based customers while specializing in the development of advanced space sensors for exploration missions as well as space-based communication technology. As our presence grows overseas, so does our need for new ambitious team players to help us advance our place in the Universe and beyond.
We are seeking a Human Resources Administrator with excellent technical, customer and communication skills to join our HR team. To work closely with the Senior HRBP and in partnership with the business, collaborates across all areas of the business to achieve our purpose.
The Human Resources Administrator is to maintain and provide administrative support to the Human Resources Management System (HRMS). In addition, the Human Resources Administrator will support a variety of tasks across the HR department, support projects in the UK and Canada, uphold MDA’s culture and its shared values, make sure that our purpose is understood and felt by everyone at MDA Space.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance electronic and the HRMS people records in compliance with Company policy and all applicable legislation
- Ensures accurate and timely entry of new hires, data change, promotions, HR transactions, separation, and all other relevant information related to employee lifecycle into the HRMS whilst maintaining data integrity
- Key interface for managing employee benefits.
- Enhance and deliver pre-boarding, on-boarding, and off-boarding, the employee experience and engagement (including, the right to work in the UK, security checks, the welcome presentation and benefits orientation)
- Analytics and HR reporting, prepare routine reports, review data for validity, maintain training, learning and development records, length of service, and peer awards
- First line support for all HR related queries including policy engagement and training, learning and development.
- Support the talent acquisition offering, and talent management framework for existing employees
- Project work supporting and including DEI and belonging, benchmarking, training, learning, and development, additional ad hoc proactive and foundational HR programmes
Suitable candidates will ideally have the following attributes:
- 2+ years’ experience in human resources or similar role in a dynamic, fast paced environment with a strong customer service orientation
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources and/or Business Administration strongly preferred (years of experience in lieu of education considered)
- Working towards CIPD level 3/5 or above and a personal desire to continue learning and developing, aligned to developing within the Learning & Development HR specialism.
- Understanding and experience of UK employment law in action (desirable)
- Able to work analytically with an evidence-based approach and pragmatic application.
- Proactive and able to plan and prioritize to meet the needs of the business and balance multiple priorities, adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- Superior communication skills (oral and written) with all levels of employees, with an understanding and appreciation of customer requirements.
- Experience with administering a time and attendance system is an asset.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Must possess tact, diplomacy and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work with discretion and in a confidential manner.
- Growth mindset, comfortable with complexity and ambiguity, values driven HR.
