As a Financial Analyst - Level 2, or Principal Financial Analyst - Level 3 located in Dulles, VA you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.
The Financial Analyst (FA) will interface with the BU Leadership, OU Leadership, Division Staff and business managers to provide financial support and analysis to meet program requirements.
The Space TSSD Business Management team is looking for two Financial Analysts who will work closely together within the larger team. These positions provide excellent opportunity for growth and cross-development. As such, please note that the below responsibilities are all encompassing for both roles, with some ability for cross-training and overlap. Both positions can be filled at either a Level 2 or 3.
Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept:
Position #1 (FP&A Role)
- Consolidating inputs for weekly Sensitivity reviews. This would include an understanding of the current forecast and cross-referencing program forecast updates.
- Building and maintaining a Weekly Actuals vs. Forecast update for various financial metrics to be distributed to BU Leadership.
- Coordinating and consolidating inputs for Monthly Unbilled AR and Aging AR analysis.
- Coordinating Monthly Risk Work Authorization (RWA) inputs to Division Staff.
- Updates and analysis of Monthly OU Review packages to ensure they are accurate and complete.
- Assisting in various aspects with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) submission for the BU.
- Assisting with the reporting of the Quarterly EAC Scorecard.
- Responding to ad-hoc data calls.
Position #2 (Indirect, NCTA, Capex Role)
- Preparing the Weekly NCTA cost report to include actuals for all B&P, M&S, and IRAD efforts.
- Work closely with NCTA project leads to resolve any cost reporting discrepancies or other project related issues.
- Coordinate monthly forecast updates with NCTA project leads and load the forecast into the planning tool.
- Coordinate with OU’s and project leads to prepare the Monthly Capex forecast and load into the planning tool.
- Work with various stakeholders to place Capex assets into service.
- Coordinate OU inputs for the Monthly Indirect forecast updates.
- Take a lead role for the annual FPRP (Forward Pricing) submission for the BU to include variance analysis against prior year and preparing the Leadership Review package.
- Coordinate NCTA and Capex inputs for the 5-Year Annual Operating Plan (AOP) submission.

Basic Qualifications:
- Level 2 - Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree
- Level 3 - Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3+ years of professional experience
- Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
- Experience with MS Office including Excel (with Macros, Pivot tables and VLOOKUP) and PowerPoint
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance (Optional)

Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $110,900.00Salary Range 2: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
