Telemetry Engineer

a.i. solutions is looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for aerospace to join our team on the Expendable Launch Vehicle Integrated Services Contract (ELVIS 3) at the Kennedy Space Center. The candidate will work in a team environment as an active member of the Communications and Telemetry (C&T) team supporting operations and maintenance at Hangar AE on Cape Canaveral. The candidate will provide Telemetry Engineering support that always meets and usually exceed customer expectations.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the specification, design, and development of various telemetry front end processing equipment and management of these systems, including implementation and operation of all aspects of telemetry data processing.
• Have the ability to manage and operate the telemetry operational consoles during testing and launch operations, in addition assist customers with any data processing related issues.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting real-time data processing environments.
• Develop, design, and maintain system drawings in Visio for the telemetry system.
•  RF Systems Engineer design responsibilities also include the simulation, test and evaluation of prototype telecommunications element and systems designs under both laboratory and field conditions and the initial integration of prototype communications elements into the supporting telecommunications infrastructure.
• An ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF engineering and modern packet transport technologies TMoIP.
• Provide functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software operating systems for the organization ‘s products.
• Keep NASA Network engineering cognizant during the whole process of planning, installing, maintaining and monitoring of the network sub-system.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Communications and Telemetry team.
• Able to work effectively on several phases of hardware/software systems including design, operation, and troubleshooting with little or no direction.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• U.S. citizenship
• Obtain successful completion of a government background check.
• BS in Electronic Engineering or BS Electronic Technology from an accredited university with a focus in signals, communications, RF design or related areas
• Knowledge of network topologies.

 

Desired Background:

• Engineering Degree with RF or communications specialization.
• Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing, and actively listen and perceive the needs, values or opinions of others.
• Demonstrated leadership accomplishments professionally and personally.
• Proactivity in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact.
• Strong logical and methodical approaches to problems or tasks.
• Good written and oral communication skills and ability to articulate a problem and/or solution.
• Candidate must be dependable, self-motivated, have good communication and interpersonal skills, good computer skills and be familiar with standard Microsoft applications and Windows OS.
