About The Position
Intuitive Machines is seeking a Contracts Administrator to play a critical role in supporting our company's growth and operations. The Contracts Administrator role provides subject matter expertise on contractual matters to all functional areas of the business and includes contracts administration for existing contracts and support to business development in pursuing new business opportunities. Candidates should possess the ability to proactively act as the lead for the contracting process through all stages of the contracting lifecycle (RFP review, proposal development, contract negotiation, contract administration, contract closeout). Your responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts, including those related to U.S. Government programs (NASA, DoD, other agencies), commercial payload/rideshare projects, and other commercial agreements. The Contracts Administrator is an individual contributor role and must be able to operate with a level of independence and minimal supervision and direction at times while managing a dynamic, fast-paced, work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide contract administration (full lifecycle) support for various U.S. Government (USG) and commercial delivery and service contracts (fixed-price, cost-type, time & materials) including coordination of appropriate internal reviews, contract negotiation, and contract/task order administration and execution.
- Support proposal activities including participation in RFP analysis, proposal development and reviews, flow down of terms and conditions to subcontractors, Gate reviews and provide input (including presentations and analysis memos) on contractual matters.
- Perform proposal and contract risk analysis and identify and mitigate or resolve identified contract risks and issues.
- With limited supervision, draft and/or review and negotiate all forms of agreements including non-disclosure agreements, preliminary agreements (LOI, MOU, MOA), teaming agreements, contracts, subcontracts and amendments and modifications of all of the foregoing agreements.
- Act as point of contact with external customers and support internal customer inquiries from functional teams relating to the contracts team area of responsibility.
- Draft correspondence, respond to customer data calls/requests and submit contract deliverables (DRDs, CDRLs, contract reporting, and other deliverables) to customers under supervision.
- Conduct research and analysis of customer contract requirements including analysis of FAR, DFARS, NFS and other agency clause requirements.
- Interface and collaborate with all functional teams to ensure contract compliance, timely responses to customer inquiries, and support resolution of contract issues and claims.
- Attend and participate in internal and external program meetings and processes including contract handover and contract change management.
- Perform document management including electronic signatures, logging, and filing of contract documents.
- Assist with contract template development, update, and configuration management.
- Support more senior Contracts staff with miscellaneous tasks including contract interpretation, problem/issue resolution, claims/dispute resolution management, and process improvement projects.
- Assist in developing command media such as manuals, policies, processes, work instructions, or tools.
Skills & Abilities Required:
- Experience working with USG contracts including knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and NFS.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- High proficiency with MS Office software.
Desired Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:
- MA, JD, contracts certificate or paralegal training.
- NCMA (e.g CFCM, CPCM) or equivalent industry accreditation.
- Direct experience in the space industry including commercial space or support for USG agencies focused on space activities (NASA, DoD, etc.).
- Participation in proposal development (drafting, review, analysis, etc.) and bid strategies.
- Drafting commercial agreements and contracts.
- Negotiating, managing, and administering contracts and ensuring compliance with contract requirements including compliance with FAR and other contract reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of USG procurement regulations and requirements including various USG Contract Types (FFP, FPIF, CPAF, CPFF, T&M).
- Knowledge of commercial intellectual property (IP) and USG IP and data rights clauses.
- Direct interface with external customers and government agencies on contract-related matters.
- Drafting and managing contract modifications, amendments, and extensions ensuring accurate documentation and execution.
- Leading or supporting contract negotiations for new awards and contract modifications.
- Knowledge of ITAR and export compliance requirements.
- Experience developing customer and internal company stakeholder relationships.
- Self-starter, with flexibility to manage high cadence of requests.
- Understanding of complex financial and business concepts and ability to recognize risk in business transactions.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills (including preparing and giving presentations) to effectively communicate with diverse functional teams, varied audiences, and levels.
- Analytical thinking, organizational skills, and creative problem-solving and negotiation skills.
