Northrop Grumman Space Systems and Remote Sensing Program Business Unit (RSP) is seeking a Facility Manager 1 to join our team. This position is based in the Elkridge, MD area.  The selected candidate will be responsible for managing all Facilities, Project Management, and Real Estate Operations at a new mixed-use Payload Assembly, Integration and Test Facility. 

This role is crucial in ensuring that the production environment meets ISO 8 Clean Room standards, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency.

Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Serve as the Facility Project Manager to oversee the buildout of the facility.

  • Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.

  • Support day-to-day facilities efforts to ensure a safe, well-maintained, clean work environment for all employees.

  • Supervise a small facilities and maintenance team of experts and coordinates operations with the resident Northrop Grumman programs and RSP BU leadership.

  • Be responsible for developing and maintaining the facility budget for the facility.

  • Support environmental, safety, and other facility plans, processes, and audits.

  • This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work.  Primarily first shift with on-call responsibilities as need to ensure Facility Operations are not impacting resident work force.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience in facilities management, operations management, planning, or related discipline. Or a Master’s degree and 3 years of related experience in facilities management, operations management, planning, or related discipline. An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree (High School diploma or equivalent is required with additional experience)

  • Proven experience interacting with all levels of the organization and external representatives, including executive management.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills is required and essential.

  • Experience effectively working with all levels and types of employees to ensure tasking is completed on time and within budget.

  • Ability to effectively manage a team of professionals and technicians, including both employees and vendors.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance, and SCI approval/access.

  • Experience in manufacturing and clean room environments

  • PMP or CAM certified

Salary Range: $93,100.00 - $139,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
