About the Role

Sierra Space’s Operations Team is seeking a talented Planning Manager to join the team.

You will lead and build a team of high-performance Material and Production Planners in support of our Crew, Cargo, Destinations product team. Your team will be responsible for the entire value chain from raw materials through finished goods shipped to customers, ensuring correct signals are sent to Purchasing and Production on what and when to buy or build. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining highly integrated business processes that drive program execution across all functions of the business.

The right person for this role is very strong with ERP/MRP systems, possesses strong analytical skills, has proven ownership and execution against challenging products and timelines, and has a strong understanding of industry standard Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Inventory Management best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field of study

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in either a supply chain or production-type role where complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies were built

  • Comprehensive understanding of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) I & II principles

  • Ability to demonstrate a willingness to take on substantial responsibility across supply chain, logistics, engineering, and supply planning functions with a bias towards speed and accuracy.

  • Previous management experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence


Preferred Qualifications:

  • APICS Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification

  • Experience in Aerospace, Defense, or Automotive manufacturing industries.

  • Experience with DFARS regulations specific to Materials Management and Accounting Systems (MMAS)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

  • Technical Skills – SQL, Python, R, PowerBI, Tableau

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

$104,827.91 - $144,138.39
