Job description

As a team, we’ve launched five satellites into orbit, signed ten commercial deals worth over $1 billion in revenue, raised over $750 million from top global investors, and recruited a team of over 400 world-class engineers. We all work out of our (legendary) San Francisco office, which was once used to build ships during the World Wars.

Our satellites, which operate from geostationary orbit (GEO), weigh only 400 kg and utilize a proprietary software-defined radio payload. Each satellite can connect over two million people, and we’re very excited for the impact we’ll soon have in the Philippines, Peru, Mexico, and more!

Backed by substantial funding and a passionate, collaborative team, we offer a rewarding work environment where you'll learn and make a significant impact, no matter where you are in your career.

Executive Assistant to the CEO

Our CEO, John Gedmark, is seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant. In this role, you will be a critical partner in ensuring John’s productivity and effectiveness by managing the details that keep both his professional and personal commitments running smoothly.

This role requires someone who is adaptable, highly responsive, and willing to go above and beyond at all times to support the CEO in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

If you excel at anticipating needs, thrive on solving problems, and are ready to contribute meaningfully to the success of a growing organization, we’d love to hear from you.

Role

  • Keep John’s day on track by managing all the details, from scheduling to logistics.
  • Be the go-to person for all interactions and communications involving the CEO.
  • Plan, coordinate, and make sure business travel is seamless and hassle-free.
  • Offer on-the-spot support for meetings, events, and any other needs that arise.
  • Take care of personal and professional tasks—whether it’s scheduling appointments, running errands, or helping with expense reports—so John can stay focused.
  • Be available anytime, ready to pivot and tackle challenges head-on.

What we are looking for:

  • Proactive Problem-Solver: Autonomous, takes initiative.
  • Responsive and Fast-Paced: Quick to answer a text, call, email, or Slack, no matter the hour.
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented: Excel is organizing chaos to make sure nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Flexible and Adaptable: Plans change—often—and you’re ready to roll with it.
  • Energy-Giver: Always maintain a positive attitude and steady demeanor.
  • Zero Ego: Willing to help however you can, with no task too big or small.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as an assisting a CEO or senior leader, ideally in a fast-growing company.
  • High levels of discretion, trustworthiness, and professionalism.
  • Expert with Google Suite and Slack, with a knack for learning new tools quickly.
  • Able to juggle multiple priorities and remain unflappable under pressure.

Bonus

  • Experience working with senior leaders in a fast-paced organization
  • Experience with classified or otherwise highly sensitive work
