Job description

Company Description

Icarus is at the forefront of aerospace innovation, developing solar-powered stratospheric drones designed to enhance global connectivity and observation. Operating at altitudes 20 times closer to Earth than Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, our drones deliver superior 5G direct-to-device communication and ultra-high-resolution imagery. With the capability to remain airborne for up to a year through autonomous solar-powered operations, Icarus offers continuous, cost-effective solutions that surpass traditional cell towers and satellite systems.

Role Description

We are seeking skilled Production Technicians to join our dynamic team and help build the next generation of advanced aircraft systems. This role combines mechanical assembly, wire harness fabrication, and machining responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity to work across multiple disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Assemble aircraft components and systems, including structural elements and avionics.
  • Fabricate and install high-quality wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Read, interpret, and work from mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Operate CNC machines, including setup, programming, and manufacturing of precision parts.
  • Conduct hands-on assembly and integration of large and small fragile assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and improve assembly, testing, and integration processes.
  • Use precision-calibrated tools and measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Document all work performed in shop floor management systems (ERP) and create detailed reports.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and ensure compliance with all safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, wire harness fabrication, or machining.
  • Proficiency with mechanical tools, precision measuring instruments, and hand/power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with CNC programming and operation (e.g., vertical, horizontal, and 5-axis milling).
  • Hands-on experience fabricating and installing wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with avionics, fluid-structure interaction, and structural assembly processes.
  • Experience in a high-paced production environment or aerospace industry.
  • Knowledge of pressure, temperature, and flow measurement devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other heavy equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and work at elevated heights (up to 150 feet).

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $70,000 to $100,000 salary
  • Large equity in the company
  • Comprehensive healthcare, dental, and vision plan with HSA.
  • Dream desk setup, including tools and whatever else you need to be your most productive self.
