We are looking for an experienced Production Project Manager. As the right candidate for this position, you will manage the design, build, and delivery of new ground and test support equipment for the space station subsystem hardware including environmental control and life support, propulsion and avionics, among others. You should be able to work with cross-functional teams in R&D, mechanical design, software, and manufacturing as well as technician staff.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure completion of Ground and Test Support project deliverables

  • Develop detailed project plans including schedules and resource allocation

  • Monitor project performance and report on impediments as required

  • Focal point for Ground and Test support equipment initiation

  • Take ownership of overall project execution

  • Active participation in team brainstorming and technical review meetings

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering or related field

  • 3+ years of experience with project management in the aerospace industry

  • Experience with building and maintaining spaceflight hardware in a Production environment

  • Experience managing multiple projects in a team environment

  • Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills

  • Proficient in a variety of project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, etc.) and techniques (agile, waterfall)

Work Environment:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements 

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
