Program Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organized, goal-oriented Program Manager to support the management of programs and activities for our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership of programs and subprojects, ensuring they are executed to meet customer objectives within required timelines and on budget.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage program schedule activities to ensure timeline objectives are achievable
  • Develop and manage program budgets to ensure resources are used effectively
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impacts on program success
  • Adhere to all customer (internal and external) reporting requirements
  • Work with product assurance and systems engineering teams to ensure quality processes meet or exceed program requirements
  • Coordinate efforts across company functional areas such as engineering, procurement, and manufacturing to ensure cohesive execution of programmatic goals
  • Assist with negotiating and finalizing prospective and active contracts
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring all reporting requirements, specifications, and approved Statements of Work are met
  • Monitor expenses, address variances, and develop financial strategies to support program goals
  • Develops an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement
  • Meet with stakeholders and communicates project issues and decisions
  • Produces accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle
  • Analyzes program risks and opportunities
  • Implements and manages change to ensure project goals are achieved
  • Responsible for cost, schedule, and performance of a project or program


Relevant Experience and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in project engineering within the aerospace or defense industry
  • Excellent listening and facilitation skills to both understand and expedite where necessary
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to make presentations to small and large groups; internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of and ability to analyze terms, conditions, and other contractual requirements of the assigned program
  • Strong understanding of aerospace design, manufacturing, and testing processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Experienced in financial management and reporting on Profit and Loss
  • Experience with Earned Value and variance reporting preferred
  • Proven track record in managing engineering projects from conception to completion
  • Advanced proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project) and MS Office Suite
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as AS9100 and FAA/EASA regulations
  • PMP Certification preferred

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Pay:   Annual Salary $90,000 - $128,000 DOE


Note about pay range: Pay range for this job level is a general guideline for California and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.


Employment Type and Exempt Status:   Full-time / Exempt


Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off
