Position Purpose: This Mission Operations Engineer I will be working in a team environment, with responsibility for multiple space missions, including all mission phases from concept of operations development, commissioning timeline development, mission rehearsals, launch and commissioning operations, nominal operations, and spacecraft decommissioning. The Mission Operations team at BCT also provides customer training and support for on-orbit operations. This engineer will be working in a team environment, with frequent opportunities for customer engagement, new business development, concept design, mission formulation, and system analysis.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide support to mission operations concept and flight product development
- Create and maintain requirements for ground and flight segments and assist with requirements verification and validation
- Create mission operations documentation, procedures, command scripts and timelines
- Develop and maintain ground segment software and tools in support of flight operations
- Perform integrated system level testing of flight and ground segments
- Create training documentation for operations engineers both internally and externally for customer operations teams
- Serve as the point of contact for all satellite related questions from a customer following launch
- Perform and/or assist with real-time spacecraft/payload command and control during launch and early orbit
- Perform trending and analysis of spacecraft/payload performance and assist with anomaly investigations
- Work closely with other contractors/teammates in meeting customer needs
- Ensure all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations as well as company policies and directives
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Engineering, System or Computer Science discipline
- 2+ years of experience in satellite operations, including real-time spacecraft/payload operations support and flight product development and test
- Familiarity with all aspects of the satellite system life cycle, including mission and instrument operations system design, launch, commissioning, and operations
- Experience in generation of concept of operations plans, procedures and timelines
- Proficiency in verification and/or validation of operations procedures and software
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work rapidly with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skill
- Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with emphasis in rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities
- Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
- Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
