Vast is looking for a Technical Product Manager, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Information Systems, to lead the design, development and implementation of enterprise-level engineering and manufacturing information systems. These tools are critical for the success of Vast as we design and build artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle for initiatives that bridge engineering and manufacturing information systems, from conceptual design to post-implementation support.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define the vision, roadmap, and priorities for these systems.
- Act as the primary liaison between cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Procurement.
- Translate business needs into actionable technical requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
- Oversee configuration, customization, and integration of corporate systems, balancing out-of-the-box functionality with tailored solutions.
- Manage system testing, user acceptance processes and system level documentation.
- Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to integrate systems seamlessly into the broader technology ecosystem.
- Create and manage a roadmap that reflects the technical needs and milestones of the product.
- Monitor system performance and gather user feedback to identify enhancement opportunities.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure systems remain innovative and competitive.
- Develop and deliver training programs and resources to maximize system adoption and efficiency.
- Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
- 4+ years of experience in a product management or a similar role, preferably managing systems such as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-level software solutions and integrations, ideally between ERP/MES/PLM platforms.
- Strong understanding of engineering / manufacturing functions and common practices as it relates to information systems e.g. Master Data Management, item interchangeability, bills of material, manufacturing states, and part pedigree.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Teamcenter, Manufacturo MES, or NetSuite ERP.
- Familiarity working with the Atlassian portfolio, including JIRA and Confluence.
- Technical proficiency in system architecture and data governance.
- Proficiency with agile methods, sprint planning, and Kanban or Agile boards.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
- Experience leading small-group/ad-hoc info sessions (e.g. lunch-and-learns).
- Extensive experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- Strong analytical mindset, capable of interpreting data to inform decisions and measure success.
- Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.
Pay Ranges:
- $130,000 - $165,00
