Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Export Compliance professional to join The Aerospace Corporation (Aerospace). This staff level position will report directly to the Export Control Office (ECO) and the Empowered Official (EO). This position will be responsible for supporting export compliance issues as they relate to the International Partnerships Office and providing export compliance guidance for other programs and projects corporate wide.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, Chantilly, Colorado Springs, or Arlington/Crystal City office, offering a hybrid work model that combines 3+ regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow. 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist in administering an effective export program to ensure regulatory and internal policy requirements relating to export licensing, exemption and exception usage, training and recordkeeping are met
  • Prepare licenses and other authorizations (DSPs, TAAs, BIS, etc.) requests for commodity jurisdiction, commodity classifications, advisory opinions and general correspondence a
  • Act as liaison with Department of State, Department of Commerce and other agencies responsible for export regulations to communicate and resolve export concerns
  • Provide support to foreign subsidiary(ies); including support for classified operations abroad
  • Perform export reviews of material for external and/or public release
  • Respond to requests for information, analysis of export compliance impact and review of contract provisions relating to export and security controls 
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Security management

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience
  • Broad and deep understanding of export disciplines and regulations (EAR, ITAR, etc.) including applicable industry best practices
  • Experience in working with US government representatives (DoS, DTSA, DoC, SAF/IA and others) to coordinate, collaborate and discuss export strategy and procedures
  • Knowledge of and experience with 32 CFR Part 117 or the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) Rule and its application to working with classified information and international security
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SSBI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
