This position is located at our manufacturing and test facility in Briggs, TX north of Austin, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive day-to-day production of fluid/propulsion components (tubing, valves, thrusters) and higher-level assemblies for Blue Ghost and Elytra, including tracking demand, managing outsource cleaning/passivation vendors, and managing Manufacturing Orders
  • Generate and maintain work instructions and test reports for Blue Ghost and Elytra spacecraft
  • Develop and execute functional checkout procedures and processes where applicable.
  • Work with Fluid Systems, Propulsion and Design Engineers in design review cycles and standalone projects to reduce weight and cost, while increasing production efficiency
  • Develop data collection processes and generate metrics to inform strategic production and programmatic decisions
  • Plan and execute capital expenditures to increase Spacecraft Fluids & Propulsion Shop throughput as spacecraft production ramps up
  • Work with welders to develop and document weld schedules and implement process controls
  • Work with technicians to develop and document precision cleaning procedures and implement process controls

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent technical field
  • 2+ years working in a production, testing, or operations environment
  • Familiar with weld processes and inspection techniques
  • Familiar with precision cleaning processes and inspection techniques
  • Familiar with Lean/5S production practices and associated analytical methods

Desired

  • 2+ years working with fluid systems and/or propulsion components
  • Experience creating and optimizing lean/5S work cells in production environments
  • Experience with NDE processes, including PT, VT and RT
  • Experience with precision cleaning processes and inspection
  • Experience with writing assembly procedures or documentation for mechanical, electrical, or structural systems.
  • Experience writing test plans, procedures and identifying pass/fail criteria on systems. Knowledge of data analysis packages (Python/high level Excel preferred)
  • Experience with GD&T
