We are looking for an experienced Flight Software Engineer who will be responsible for the design, and development of command and data handling flight software for Axiom Station. This includes interfacing with various systems such as Avionics, Payloads, Propulsion, Guidance, Navigation and Control, Environmental Controls and Life Support, and more. It also includes interfacing with the Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery system, networks, various communications systems, and user interfaces.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with various software teams, users, and additional subsystem stakeholders to optimize Axiom’s command and/or telemetry systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables
Identify requirements, user and stakeholder needs, and deliver design, development, and test plans for software
Work with agile methodologies and the scrum framework
Communicate progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership
Work as a team member, collaborating with other software developers to build software for the world’s first commercial space station
Perform additional job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or similar, and 15+ years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to address project challenges
Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet tight deadlines and quality objectives
Proficiency with integrated development environments
Proficiency with database systems such as Postgres, InfluxDB
Experience with languages such as Rust and C++
Experience with query languages such as SQL, NoSQL, GraphQL, etc
Experience with transmitting data in LEO using systems such as TDRSS, C2V2, and 1553
Skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
