What We Need 
 
Kymeta Corporation, a leader in satellite communication technologies, is seeking an experienced and strategic Business Development Vice President. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the company's business growth by developing and nurturing strategic relationships with domestic and global defense contractors and companies building anonymous solutions/platforms. The VP of Business Development will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure Kymeta's solutions align with the evolving needs of the defense industry and secure communications, while advancing the company’s strategic goals in these critical sectors. 
  
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  
Strategic Relationship Development 
Identify and establish relationships with defense contractors, government agencies, and organizations involved in national security, defense technologies, and cybersecurity. 
• Develop partnerships with companies and stakeholders focused on building anonymous platforms for defense and data-gathering applications. 
• Engage senior executives and decision-makers within target organizations to uncover and pursue new business opportunities. 
• Create opportunities for integrated solutions that incorporate Kymeta terminals. 
• Represent Kymeta at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance the company’s profile in relevant markets. 
  
Market and Industry Analysis 
Conduct in-depth market research to uncover new business opportunities, identify emerging trends, and understand customer needs within the defense and secure communications sectors. 
Gain a thorough understanding of customer pain points, competitor activities, and regulatory considerations related to defense and anonymous platform markets. 
Monitor and assess the competitive landscape to anticipate technological and strategic shifts, ensuring Kymeta remains a market leader. 
  
Business Strategy & Execution 
Collaborate with the executive team to define and refine Kymeta’s strategic direction in the defense and secure communications markets. 
Develop engagement strategies, value propositions, and tailored messaging for defense contractors and anonymous platform companies. 
Build a robust sales pipeline targeting high-value contracts and strategic partnerships. 
  
Sales and Revenue Growth 
Drive revenue growth by securing new business opportunities and expanding Kymeta’s presence in the defense and anonymous platform markets. 
Lead negotiations for contracts, partnership agreements, and strategic alliances, ensuring outcomes that benefit all stakeholders. 
Collaborate with the sales team to develop tailored proposals, pricing strategies, and service offerings for defense contractors and anonymous platform providers. 
  
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
  
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence senior executives, government officials, and technical stakeholders. 
• Over 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, with expertise in the defense industry, satellite communications, and secure technologies. 
• Strong business acumen, with a proven ability to understand complex technical solutions and translate them into strategic business opportunities. 
• Proficient in navigating complex organizational structures to build alignment and drive initiatives. 
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously. 
• Familiarity with satellite communication technologies and secure communication platforms is advantageous. 
• Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance. 
  
EDUCATION
 
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree in a relevant discipline is preferred. 
• Proven success in developing strategic relationships with defense contractors, government agencies, and private-sector stakeholders in secure and anonymous platform markets. 
• In-depth knowledge of the defense contracting process, including procurement cycles and government regulations such as ITAR and FAR. 
  
COMPENSATION
 
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $170,000 - $250,000. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 25%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
